ABOUT YOU

This role will suit an ambitious, pro-active LAMP Developer, with good knowledge of best practices in web development, and a love of problem solving, who is looking to join an innovative team with a vibrant working environment.

You should enjoy working with others and be able to take responsibility for projects. The position is predominantly backend development, though you will gain/have exposure to the full web development process.

Required experience:

·Proven experience building web applications using LAMP architecture. This will require excellent knowledge of PHP5 OOP and MySQL5 and its surrounding technologies

·MVC Frameworks (particularly Symfony 1.x)

·Subversion (SVN) or other similar version control systems

·Experience of working on a *nix based command line

Desirable experience:

·Experience working of high traffic scalable websites.

·MySQL5 optimisation

·Experience of using and creating web services and APIs including REST

·Design Patterns

·Technical documentation skills

·Understanding of the web, including emerging trends and key technologies

·Agile/Scrum processes

·Test driven development and continuous integration (using tools like PHPUnit, Phing and Hudson)

·Lucene/SOLR or any other search technology

·Javascript Frameworks including YUI, jQuery and prototype

·NoSQL databases (particularly MongoDB)

·Symfony2

·Apache configuration, including advanced vhost rules

·Experience with Akamai caching solutions
