Mining Engineer

Purpose of the role
To provide a professional level of engineering expertise and to make technical contributions to production, planning, and quality control projects.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for technical advise, innovation, planning and methodology in the mine including,
- Short, medium and long term mine planning activities
- Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance
- Contributing to projects to optimise mine construction and operation
- Preparing drilling and blasting plans
- Contributing to ensuring mine production tonnage, grade and cost budgets are achieved
You will be experienced in open cut mining operations within the coal industry and relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering. You will have a thorough comprehension of mine planning software such as Vulcan and enjoy the challenge of working in a diverse environment. You will possess well developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills and be confident in your knowledge of project management practices.
