Money Laundering Reporting Officer – Middle Eastern Bank

CF11 opportunity for a Middle Eastern Bank in the West End. The bank has a reputation for strong management of compliance and AML issues.

The Client:

Middle Eastern Sovereign Bank, with high risk customer base. London based branch that requires liaisons with overseas head office as well as locally from a senior management position.

The Role:

Responsible for maintaining and developing policy and control procedures, correct AML documentation for all PEPs and high-risk customer base and for setting strategy through conducting AML risk assessment

• Conduct Annual review of products and customers to assess AML exposure
• Ensure regulatory compliance needs are met in accordance with current AML procedures.
• Internally assess elements of ‘consent’ and suspicious activities reports and were necessary contact the SOCA.
• Overseeing efficient and robust local AML compliance for other offices within Europe
• Receive and assess all internal Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with onward reporting to the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and management when appropriate.
• Overseeing AML staff training obligations, including ensuring that all staff receive training appropriate to their needs, that the training is effective and that appropriate records are kept.

The Candidate:

Ideally this candidate will be an existing CF11 approved person. This is not essential, but is preferred.

• Requires a previous proven track record in embedding a Financial Crime policy framework
• Strong detailed knowledge of the relevant FCA Rules and AML regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of UK Financial Crime regulatory responsibilities.
• Strong technical financial crime knowledge, including, AML, TF, Sanctions, high risk customers, fraud.
