Our client, is a diversified international operator within the mining and resource sector, who possess a strong client base and have experienced significant growth both locally and overseas.. Their offices are based North of the river and parking is provided.

Job Description

Reporting to the Group General Manager, some key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement a national sourcing procurement strategy for a range of goods and services.
  • Monitoring, managing and recommending supplier relationships ensuring high standard, quality cost.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and robust purchasing and contracting planning
  • Carry out regular spend analysis and use the information to implement a new category management framework
  • Manage and mentoring of staff in purchasing practices, policies and systems.

Some travel will be required to the eastern states and regional locations to facilitate the national agreements to be put in place.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Extensive experience in a contracts and purchasing management role preferably within a mining or construction environment.
  • A high level of commercial acumen when dealing with all stakeholders of the business.
  • Contractual law knowledge and expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to provide leadership.
