Network Support Specialist Job in White Plains, New York US

Provide technical support for the Xylem Network Management Center, which includes networking equipment, infrastructure services, and firewalls. Additional responsibilities would include optimizing and running monitoring tools to assist in the analysis of server and network hardware and operating systems, as well as assisting with reporting.

Performs the function described herein for the Xylem Inc. Enterprise Infrastructure team (EI), Network Management Center.

Principal responsibilities:

· providing support of all WAN networks/routing in Americas region;

· administering and maintaining Xylem Inc.'s Wide Area Network and systems;

· acting as third level support for all Local Area Networks within the Xylem Inc. hemisphere;

· providing occasional support of firewalls, proxy servers and all other systems the NMC uses;

· assisting the other EI groups in trouble shooting and monitoring tasks;

· installing and configuring new networking hardware and associated tasks for the Xylem Inc. global network

Reports to Global Network Manager

·B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent;

·Minimum of three years of experience in Networking (incl. routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP);

·Minimum of three years computer related experience and two to three years on Server Hardware, Network Hardware, and Enterprise Applications;

·Knowledge of advanced TCP/IP and Networking;

·Experience with routing concepts and practices;

·Experience with DNS, VPN technologies;

·Preferred: experience in supporting at least one major firewall system; experience with load balancers, proxy servers and NMS systems.
