Responsibilities Develop cost estimates for Nuclear Facilities to include but not limited to facilities additions, modifications, extended power uprates (EPU), and new build activities. Candidate must be proficient with estimating software packages such as WinEstimator, Hard Dollar, Timberline or Success. Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience developing estimates in a nuclear environment for design, engineering, or construction organizations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not limited to the following: - Organize, plan, schedule, and control activities related to cost estimate preparation for multi-discipline operations utilizing the software mentioned above or similar. - Develop cost estimates at various levels of maturity (Conceptual, Budgetary, and Detailed) - Develop cost estimates from design and construction documents at varying levels of development and available design detail. - Assist in the development and writing of the procedures to administer the Estimating program for Kiewit Power Nuclear. - Provide factual, verifiable supporting documentation for estimated work. - Work effectively in a project team environment where priorities, schedules, and job priorities change continuously as needed and/or as required. - Assist in the development and maintenance of a work breakdown structure (WBS) to be used throughout KPN. - Assist in developing and providing training to Kiewit personnel on nuclear estimating procedures, programs and processes. - Demonstrates continuous effort to improve estimating and project controls programs, processes and performance while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The successful candidate will have an intimate knowledge of construction techniques and methodologies as well as a technical and practical comprehension of engineering practices. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE The successful candidate must have 5 years nuclear industry experience in the performance of estimating activities at a nuclear facility in either in of the modifications, maintenance or engineering design, or new construction organizations. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of nuclear codes and standards as well as a strong understanding of regulatory requirements with emphasis on 10CFR50 appendix B programs and a strong nuclear culture and work ethic. Engineering degree preferred. The individual must: - Be detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated, - Have current expertise and experience in generating highly detailed estimates with indexed documentation for estimated work, - Have a strong work ethic and professional demeanor, - Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills, - Be able to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, - Possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organization skills, - Be a team player, but able to work independently, to meet intense deadlines, goals and objectives. - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, Access) as well as the estimating software applications mentioned above. Desirable Qualifications/skills: - Industry certification such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or similar - Advanced knowledge of estimating software applications - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Access and Visual Basic coding PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
