Job Description Job Posting Number: 9248BR Job Posting Title: Occupational Therapist Job Posting Category: Therapy Services Work Site: FL - Hospital Campus Building: Mayo Building Department: Rehab Services Job Description: Assesses and treats patients referred for Occupational Therapy by physicians licensed in the State of Florida. Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy programs to restore function, maximize independence, and prevent or correct disability following impairment from developmental deficits, the aging process, poverty and cultural differences, or diseases, injury, or illness. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. Florida State licensure to practice Occupational Therapy required. Other Qualifications: One year of outpatient ambulatory care experience and one year of inpatient acute care experience is preferred. Other experience should also include specialties in Orthopedics, Neurology, and work site evaluation. Certification in Hand Therapy or extensive experience in hand rehabilitation, including dynamic and static splinting is preferred. Certification to perform ultrasound and electrical stimulation modalities is preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification. Attends all regulatory body mandated educational programs, annually. Attends minimally one clinical continuing education program annually, working toward 26 continuing education hours (CEHs) every two years. Attends minimally one non-clinical professional development course, annually. Serves as a clinical instructor, member of a committee or task force, or serves in other appropriate department support role. Demonstrates an appropriate and accurate evaluation or treatment procedure. Demonstrates basic functional knowledge of dictation and computerized system for patient medical record documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of child, adolescent, adult, and older adult. Basic computer skills are preferred. Frequent stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting is required when moving patients and/or equipment during treatment. Required to attend a seminar familiarizing the incumbent with emergency evacuation procedures. CPR certification is required within 90 days of employment. Must also attend in-services on AIDS and Hazardous Waste Communication. Due to the nature of the work, good interpersonal skills and sensitivity are necessary. License or Certification: Florida State licensure to practice Occupational Therapy. Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Exempt Hours/Pay Period: 80 Schedule Details: Monday - Friday; 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Weekend Schedule: N/A Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $2,267.20, based on a full-time position.
