My client a leading name in the Energy / Commodities Management Consultancy market has an outstanding opportunity for an Oil Markets Analyst to join their London team.
The Role
The role sits within the oil analytics team who specialise in producing analysis, insight and forecasts into short and long term developments in the international oil and gas markets. We are looking for an individual who has experience within the oil and gas sector who has experience looking into supply / demand economics including production, pricing and behavioural trends within the global market. The role will include forecasting in the short term and long term production of oil and worldwide and in turn how this will impact the market. The role is research based including qualitative market report writing and an individual with a strong numerate ability to add value to the team. . Furthermore, the role will include engagement with key industry leaders and market experts and the opportunity to join a team providing strategic advice and bespoke solutions to the global market

The Person
- A numerate degree ideally in Economics or similar from a top tier University is ESSENTIAL (Other numerate degrees e.g. Maths, Statistics, Engineering will be favourable too).
- Experience in the energy industry (Oil Company, Oil Gas Consultancy, Industry Journal or Other Financial Institution will be ideal).
- Strong knowledge of oil / gas market fundamentals.
- An analytical mind set along with the quantitative and conceptual problem solving experience.
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to influence and persuade internal management teams and external investors.
- Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong Excel ability.
