Packaging Buyer c.25-30k West Yorkshire
Outstanding opportunity to join a leading manufacturer as the Packaging Buyer.
You will have previous purchasing experience direct with suppliers, ideally of packaging.
Working as part of the Procurement Team, through the effective and efficient management of a portfolio of Packaging, meet the agreed criteria for price, quality and service, in order to meet the company's profit and customer service targets and support the NPD programme.
Aligned with the Procurement team with regards objectives and functional strategy.
The role includes acting as a coordinator between Central Procurement and Internal customers including the Business Sectors, e.g Technical, Factory, Sales Marketing departments.
Manage lead cross functional Projects e.g. VE, Development or Supply projects.
Support Business functions including Development, Marketing, Sales Factory Operations.
Knowledge, skills :
Graduate calibre with previous experience in purchasing of materials, preferably Packaging's.
IT literate, numerate, with analytical ability and strong organisational skills
Experience of negotiating directly with suppliers
Self motivated, able to develop self and team
Strong understanding of Purchasing theory, principles techniques that can be demonstrated through negotiation and managing the supply base.
