The purpose of this job is to perform all tasks associated with the operation of the Front Office in a professional and courteous manner while   maintaining a pleasant and calm atmosphere.           
RESPONSIBILITIES:1)Schedule patient appointments for: New Consults, Follow-up visits, Reconsultations and Simulations, by reviewing individual MD schedules and making necessary adjustments. 2)Reviewing MD schedules, and resolving scheduling conflicts. 3 Answer phone calls and triage to appropriate staff.  E-charting notes for effective patient documentation. 4)Create new patient charts, requesting necessary medical records from referring MD’s, hospitals, or specialists. 5) Retrieve charts from File Room and prepare for Follow-up visits. 6)Confirm patient appointments. 7)Maintain and update all medical records to established standards, following HIPAA guidelines.  Tracking deceased patients and closing out patients chart. 8)Greet patients and assist with the queuing process.  Ensuring patients have barcode card available for their treatment. 9 Register all new patients including demographic and insurance information. 10)Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and referrals.  Properly document in patients E-Chart. 11)Collect insurance co-payments, and document in patients chart.  Prepare deposits for bank. 12)Process incoming mail for the Center daily.  Sort and distribute patient correspondence to the MD’s. 13)Stamp and mail outgoing mail daily. 14)Coordinate courier pick ups and deliveries, utilizing Quality Checklist 15) Upload MD dictations, and print transcriptions.  Copy, file, and send out transcripts. 16) Handle the back up tapes for SSOC and SHC.  Coordinate delivery to off site storage.  Interaction with IS team as needed. 17) Coordinate brachytherapy implants with Urologist and Radiation Oncologist. 18)Prepare diplomas for patients finishing treatment. 19)       Coordinate OnCall MD with answering service. 20)Keep patient refreshment area stocked, clean and neat at all times. 21)Assist the office manager as needed.
