Personal Tax Specialist

The role of the Tax Specialist is to provide technical support and advice on specialist subjects including estate planning, will writing, estate administration, trust administration, tax planning for individuals and owner-managed businesses, pension planning including pension transfer advice, financial planning, business protection, mental capacity issues, inheritance tax planning and life policy trusts.

Technical Consultancy also ensures that all our internal customers are kept informed (by various means, including workshops) whenever changing legislation, case law, market practices, compliance issues and risk issues may impact any of the above areas.

Your responsibilities will include:
·Providing a helpline and active technical support to all adviser teams for technical taxation enquiries.
·Providing active technical support to support teams and internal customers.
·Providing guidance for effective management and resolution of problem cases, including complaints
·Assessing impact of tax legislation on the Wealth business and communication of recommendations for changes to procedures.
·Raising awareness of new business opportunities and pitfalls arising from changes in tax legislation.
·Continual consideration of the FCA's principle of 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) or equivalent, with post qualification experience
·Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. provision of income tax and capital gains tax guidance to individuals and trustees
·Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office Products
·Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of General wealth products is desirable but not essential
·Role relevant qualifications, i.e.CTA is desirable but not essential
