PERSONNEL ASSISTANT II PSD/CSD TINKER AFB, OK Candidate will provide military pay and personnel, and customer service support at the Personnel Support Detachment (PSD), Customer Service Desks (CSD) located in Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Update, inquire, and process personnel and disbursing actions through Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS) and Defense MILPAY Office Database (DMO). Determine, process, and follow-up on a wide variety of active duty pay entitlement actions. Review pay accounts and service records to discover and correct irregularities. Verify eligibility, determine/authorize entitlements, and make adjustments to pay accounts. Process actions to automated system(s), Ensure pertinent documents are complete and submitted/forwarded properly. Review personnel documents to determine correct pay entitlements. Promptly and accurately compute military pay and allowance. Verify pay changes and pay transactions to basic pay, basic allowance for housing, basic allowance for subsistence, special pays, incentive pays, leave, allotments, bonuses and deductions. Prepare the separation worksheet, compute money due at separation/ retirement. Resolve pay record and personnel record problems. Review for correctness all disbursing affected documents of pay information. Provide information on complex pay problems and/or explanation for over/underpayments. Research pay entitlement laws/regulations and current procedures. Initiate corrective action and updates records in appropriate automated system(s). Initiate debt collection actions for overpayments and prepares initial correspondence. Serve as the primary source of information for individuals, commanders, and other personnel on and off base regarding separation and retirement policies, procedures, and requirements. Conduct records review with members. Advise members concerning eligibility requirements for retirements and separations. Explain member?s entitlement to veteran?s benefits, travel pay, personal property storage/shipment, government life insurance, identification card entitlements, etc. Review reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Navy members and constructs/maintains military personnel records or portion pertinent to assigned area. Make additions, revisions, or deletions to service records or files to keep them current, complete, and accurate in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. May be required to assist in the training of newly assigned personnel by demonstrating work procedures/methods and answering questions, as well as assisting other technicians. Provide customer service in person or by telephone, and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to military pay. Interprets customer?s inquiries and provides information on military pay/personnel to authorized personnel and agencies. Establish good working relationships with customers and employees within the organization. Demonstrates mutual support and respect for co-workers. Provide timely, efficient and courteous service to customers. Independently carry out familiar assignments in accordance with previous instructions, standard procedures for creating documents, or entering or retrieving data, and established use of software packages. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: Must be a US citizen. Must possess the necessary clerical skills to successfully carry out all duties and responsibilities. Must be familiar with Microsoft (MS) office products. Must possess thorough knowledge of PASSMAN (Pay/Personnel Administrative Support System (PASS) Management Manual); Naval Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS); Department Of Defense Military Pay Allowances Entitlements Manual (DODPM); Navy Pay and Personnel Procedures Manual (PAYPERSMAN), NAVSO P3050; Defense MILPAY Office Database (DMO). In-depth knowledge of the format, contents, and uses of the military personnel record. Working knowledge of the organization and its functions and programs to answer inquiries of a general nature or to refer them to the responsible staff member.. In-depth knowledge of current and prior military personnel/pay procedures, regulations, laws, and applicable Comptroller General Decisions to resolve complicated pay problems and/or to determine and process a full range of military pay transactions and reconstruct pay accounts. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to interact with others to explain complex actions taken in regard to a military member?s entitlements, allowances, or collections. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and terminology commonly used in office settings to prepare material correctly. Knowledge of standard office equipment to perform a substantial range of office automation support. WORK HOURS: 0730 to 1600, Monday through Friday. Work shall be 8-hour shifts with 30 minutes lunch. Unless otherwise scheduled. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Place of performance shall be at the Personnel Support Detachment, Oklahoma City, Bldg 847, 7641 Mercury Rd, Tinker AFB OK 73145-8706 WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is to be carried out in a climate-controlled office space. Work is primarily sedentary, but may require contractor personnel to stand and otherwise perform light physical activity as necessary to carry out administrative mission operations. SECURITY REQUIREMENT: Successful completion and approval of Form SF85 or SF86 (Background Investigation) is required.
