We are currently looking for a Piping Designer in our Syracuse, NY, or Vestal, NY locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Interpret piping and instrument diagrams, site layouts, equipment layouts, piping plan drawings, process flow diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and GA drawings with respect to packaged equipment system designs Design and modify equipment systems based on information received from customers while ensuring compliance with all codes and recognized standards Build and maintain effective working relationships with other designers and departments Deliver consistent value engineered alternatives in designs Develop, improve, and publish department practices/standards Review scope documents and specifications for verification of design against the design intent and customer requirements Consistently produce all layouts and section views with accurate BOM?s, callouts, and dimensions Perform preliminary design calculations and simulations such as load lists, flow models, piping stress analysis Stay current with practices/standards Prepare accurate engineering estimates based on review of scope documents and specifications Travel to customer or vendor sites as required
