PROVOST/VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS MERCY COLLEGE Mercy College invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. Mercy College is an independent, nonsectarian college, with a student population of over 10,500, offering 90 undergraduate and graduate programs in the metropolitan New York area. The College is mission-driven with a faculty and staff dedicated to providing students with the transformational power of a quality, affordable college education. The College is well-managed, fiscally sound, and a forward-looking institution. The Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs reports to the President. With its primary offices at the Dobbs Ferry Campus in Westchester County, this position is responsible for direct oversight of the academic affairs of this multi-campus College. The College's academic structure is organized into five schools: Business, Education, Health and Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Social and Behavioral Sciences; the School Deans report to the Provost. Among the near-term priorities for the incoming Provost will be to provide vision and leadership to the academic enterprise of the College by enhancing the teaching and learning experience through faculty learning communities, innovative partnerships and a comprehensive assessment process; ensuring the high standards and integrity of the academic programs; and leading a successful institutional re-accreditation process. The successful candidate will have a terminal degree or equivalent academic credential and a strong record of academic administration experience with outstanding leadership, management, budgetary, and planning skills. A desire to contribute to the intellectual and professional development of the College's faculty and its student body is essential.
