QA Analyst Job in Atlanta 30326, Georgia US

Technology firm based in Atlanta, GA is looking to hire a QA Analyst to create and execute a set of regression and automated tests to ensure the reliability, performance and functionality of our software product installations. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is intelligent, diligent and productive and who has a proven track record testing out web based software systems.

The QA Analyst will be responsible for testing software applications across the entire software development life cycle. Activities include planning software test cycles, creating test scenarios, executing software tests, reporting results to management, and tracking defects while interacting with the Development, Operations, Product Management and Project Management teams.

 

The individual will be provided functional specification documents as well as an over view of the foundational system, and will be tasked with creating all test cases and possible test scenarios followed by a rigorous testing cycle. The individual will directly collaborate with the implementation and RnD teams and help conduct root cause analysis of all positive and negative test cases.

 

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute manual and automated testing for our web based GUI and web servics based applications.
• Full responsibility for testing new and existing products, development upgrades, changes, and enhancements throughout entire project lifecycle.
• Work closely with management, developers and implementation staff to quantify test scenarios and coverage.
• Research problems reported in production and communicate results with appropriate parties for resolution.
• Document and monitor product defects from discovery through resolution.

Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on QA and testing experience with complex windows and web-based applications.
• Familiar with Agile software development practices.
• Solid understanding of quality assurance concepts, best practices, and methodology.
• Ability to review functional specifications for risks or design flaws and provide solutions to develop and implement.
• Working knowledge of automated testing tools such as NUNIT.
• Strong analytical skills and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Solid understanding of XML, HTTP, Web Based Applications, Web Services Testing as well as tools like Visual Studio and Eclipse.
• Experience with relational databases and be proficient using SQL
