The main purpose of the Research Manager is to assume responsibility for the execution and smooth running of research projects from start to finish. This person will be influential at all stages of the project -they may work with more senior researchers at design and analysis stages, but successful execution of the project lies with the Research Manager themselves. Excellent coordination and planning skills are essential and this person will also coach more junior members of the team, who are likely to look to the Research Managers as a source of advice.

The Research Managers will liaise with the clients throughout the project and clients will see them as responsive, good at communication, and they are effective problem solvers. They may have business development targets as part of their role, most likely identifying new opportunities with existing clients.

To be right for this role you will be familiar with a wide range of methodologies and techniques and will be capable of providing insightful conclusions and recommendations

Job Role
• Conduct thoughtful analysis of own/other's fieldwork and develop meaningful hypotheses from data.
• Be able to write a clear description of the methodology and findings (debrief) with support from senior research staff.
• Design research solutions and write proposals, including costs with senior research staff support.
• Manage 3rd parties (fieldwork, translation etc).
• Act as secondary client contact during project execution.
• Proposal writing
• Ensure job quotes are accurate in line with Director input.
• Ensure projects are managed though the set-up, fieldwork and delivery stages
• Design recruitment questionnaires, discussion guides and other research materials.
• Conduct focus groups, t IDIs, observational and other types of qualitative fieldwork
• Design a discussion guide preparing a framework of appropriate questions and techniques to meet objectives, length of group, type of respondents.
• Develop research materials, understand role and make suggestions. Make up stimulus as required.
• Assist with sales
o Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and help senior research staff to build new relationships by supporting sales efforts.
o Contribute to other marketing activity and understand business objectives.
• Build industry and research expertise
o Become knowledgeable about the market research industry and with your specific area of expertise.

Requirements
• Educated to graduate level from a recognised university with a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent.
• Prior qualitative research experience is essential.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of principle ad hoc research techniques, including groups, in-depths, ethnography and online studies.
• Good knowledge of the industry, including broad methodology and commercial understanding.
• Solid project management and planning skills.
• Able to communicate clearly

• Client-facing experience
• Good team player.
• Some management experience would be beneficial.
• Proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications.
