The Quality Engineer defines and analyzes quality issues and implements the appropriate corrective and/or improvement action plans, defines specifications, control plans, and the appropriate workmanship standards, acts as a liaison and interfaces with the customer for quality issues.

Specifically, the Quality Engineer will:

  • Resolve customer quality complaints
  • Establish and coordinates implementation of corrective action to prevent failed product recurrence
  • Review quality trends, initiates the effort to discover the root cause of problems, and coordinates correction actions
  • Institute quality plans and develops control plans as required
  • Recommend defective material disposition to the Material Review Board
  • Assist in developing improved inspection methods, capabilities and procedures
  • Recommend and drive initiatives to continuously improve the Business System performance
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, and representatives from all functional groups: Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Operations, as well as with other organizations and individuals in the Quality organization

    Qualifications include:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field and/or relevant quality experience is required.
    • Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS 9100 and ISO 13485
    • 5 years' experience in a Process or Quality Engineering role
    • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
    • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of ISO-9001 structure and requirements. ASQ certified quality auditor would be a positive.
    • Acting as project engineer to solve complex quality related problems
    • Knowledge of all documentation to ensure that the division's and customers' quality requirements are met on assigned products, programs, areas, and functions
    • Familiarity w/ quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and PPAP
    • Certified ASQ Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green belt required. Six sigma black belt would be a positive
