Job Description Job Classification: Direct Hire QA/QC Engineer - Oversee inspection team - Provide support and guidance to inspectors performing incoming inspection of mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, injection molded plastic parts, machined metal components, etc. Inspections include: electrical continuity; pcb workmanship; dimensional; visual; color; surface finish; mechanical workmanship; etc. - Establish inspection criteria and develop inspection sheets and instructions. - Interface with manufacturing department to establish priorities. - Determine/expedite disposition of nonconforming material. - Monitor flow of parts through incoming inspection. - Create specifications for in-house fixtures to facilitate inspection (ability to design and build would be a plus). - Analyze and report on inspection results. - Perform time studies of inspection activities. - Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of inspection process. - Oversee the storage and revision control of programs for vision measurement system. - Supplier management - Communicate with suppliers about nonconforming product. - Coordinate supplier corrective and preventive action. - Manage return of materials to suppliers. - Track supplier performance and present data/reports. - Equipment maintenance and calibration - Coordinate the in-house as well as outside (3rd party) calibration of measurement and test equipment (MTE). - Track calibration status of MTE. - Write procedures for in-house calibration and maintenance of equipment. - Corrective and Preventive Action - Track open Corrective Action requests (both internal and external) and ensure that CA is timely implemented. - Maintain preventive action log including validation of PA taken. - Internal Audit - Coordinate periodic internal audit of manufacturing processes. - Oversee periodic out-of-the-box re-inspections of finished goods.
