Job Description Job Posting Number: 10393BR Job Posting Title: Quality Improvement-Data Specialist Job Posting Category: Business Professional Information Technology Office/Secretarial/Clerical Support Work Site: MCHS - NW WI - EC - Eau Claire Building: Midelfort Building Department: Cardiac Center Job Description: The Quality Improvement - Data Specialist is responsible for all aspects of data collection, data entry, data management and reporting for the Cardiac Center as it relates to patient care registries. This position works cooperatively with staff and physicians within the Cardiac Center to enter accurate data in clinical registries, analyze results of that data versus national benchmarks and make recommendations related to quality and clinical improvement efforts. Interacts with nursing, administration and physicians to provide data, and associated learning opportunities. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field preferred. Background in medical terminology including anatomy, pharmacology, diagnosis, and surgical procedures. Experience in cardiac nursing or direct patient care preferred. Experience in an integrated hospital and clinic system preferred. Knowledge and experience in analytical techniques and information systems, including spreadsheets, databases, and use of statistical process control. Experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding preferred. RHIT, CCS or RHIA credentials preferred. Other Qualifications: Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of computer applications such as Work, Excel, Access, and Crystal. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong communication, human relations, and organizational skills. Must be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency Attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Hours/Pay Period: 80 Schedule Details: Full-time Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
