What are the job tasks of this position?

GENERAL DUTIES:

·         Inspects parts using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)/ FARO arm.

·         Develops and analyzes statistical data product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

·         Reads drawings and customer specifications and checks parts to prints.

·         Performs first last piece inspections on all products.

·         Verifies and signs-off on all first/last piece inspection documents.

·         Performs 100% inspection on government jobs and as required.

·         Performs random inspections on shop floor and signs-off.

·         Facilitate customer in-house inspections.

·         Responsible for resolving quality issues with customers which may incur travel.

·         Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

·         Directs, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspections and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products.

•   Working knowledge of ISO standard.

·         Ensures the quality policies and their implications are implemented, understood and maintained throughout the company.

·         Responsible for the maintenance of the internal quality audit program.

·         Performs internal quality audits and verifies the effectiveness of the quality system.

·         Responsible for statistical techniques.

·         Ensures the continuing validity of results obtained from the inspection, measuring and test equipment.

·         Responsible for overall inspection and testing.

·         Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.

·         Investigates customer complaints regarding quality, and through Corrective Action Committee assists in cause resolution.

 

Skills Required:

What do you need for this position?

Between 1 and 2 years of trade school, or vocational education, or work experience, and/or internship. Must be able to check parts to prints (must be capable of reading drawings),  working knowledge of ISO standard, Gagetrak software, CMM machine using PC-DIMIs software, FARO Arm inspection equipment using Cam 2 Measure X software, calibration of calipers, and other measuring instruments, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows Outlook, and ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
