JOB BRIEF:

 

 

The need calls for an electrical (or mechanical) engineer with strong rail electronics integration experience to support proposal development, preconstruction activity, agency relationship management and to serve as a liaison to the major rail electronic systems manufacturers for major engineer, procure and construction programs.

 

Signal engineering, ATC and certainly PTC is high demand field at present. Rail engineering professionals are experiencing a windfall. By the end of 2015, with PTC in place, there will be the typical shift. Our firm represents a career destination with the flexibility to assure career and compensation growth until careers end.

 

The company is an engineer, procure and construct firm (EPC). While rail/transit work is part of what we do, it is not all of what we do. Entering the preconstruction engineering staff here as a rail systems electronics professional will allow for your continued growth in the rail field, but every bit as import, allows for exposure, training and opportunity in other related systems engineering / systems integration work in defense, manufacturing, high technology or healthcare.

 

Cutting to the chase: Most rail systems electrical/electronics engineers can take advantage of the current rail technologies windfall and take advantage of the pressures to have systems (like PTC) in place by legally mandated deadlines. There are lots of jobs available and good money as well. When major upgrades have been completed just a few years down the road, all but a select group of these niche specific professionals will be hard pressed to hold onto economic gains, and in many cases, the positions they occupy.

LOCATIONS:

 

The firm is a national contractor but engineering does reside permanently on job sites. We can locate a professional in the Western Suburbs of DC or in the Baltimore areas. There will always be travel to sites but it will not be extensive or long term.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

 

An appropriate salary will be negotiated. The proposed BASE salary range is $140 – 175K. It will not be money that prevents the closure of an employment agreement if your capacity is strong.  BONUS, which is in addition to salary, will be a meaningful adder as time passes. It is not unusual for a preconstruction group leader to double salary in a strong year. Solid benefits attend the position
