Description
A leading global investment bank is looking for head of their surveillance group, reporting directly into the Head of Compliance and the global head of surveillance based in London. The position will be responsible for the management of 15+ junior surveillance analysts and managers and will have a huge impact in the direction the group takes going forwards.
The roles responsibilities will include:
- enhancing the surveillance activities of the function as well as maintaining the surveillance framework already in place
- recruitment / management / training of staff for the group
- working with multiple business lines to ensure the bank is compliant with all financial regulations
- liaising with regulatory bodies (cross-border)
- briefing senior management on the success of the surveillance programme
- remaining informed of all upcoming financial regulations and managing their implementation
The role will manage three teams comprised of 5-7 people and so management experience is key to this role.
Key requirements:
- Strong educational background (post graduate degree a bonus)
- Fluent in English (another European language is a huge bonus)
- Direct experience managing a surveillance team in a large bank
- Experience working within bank, regulatory body, financial services firm
- Proven management ability
- Process re-engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of IT and surveillance systems
- Willing to relocate to Berlin
