JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will support the Air Force customer in the execution of the Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Technical Services contract for the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Program Directorate. You will principally monitor and provide technical assessment of the SBIRS prime contractor activities relating to the spacecraft flight software subsystem (FSS), database and hardware/software integration activities for compliance with contract requirements, applicable standards and good technical practice. Key activities include:
• Review and assess prime contractor FSS plans and the execution of those plans
• Review and assess proposed FSS changes
• Participate in FSS anomaly resolution activities and recommend courses of action to the Air Force
• Coordinate with other Air Force system experts (such as The Aerospace Corp or Scitor) to arrive at best possible anomaly resolution or solutions to other FSS issues
• Support the Air Force FSS SBIRS Acquisition Manager(SAM) in the development, testing and delivery of the SBIRS FSS system

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years work with Flight Software Systems or their equivalent
• Work with the software development life cycle
• Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Program Management work with current space systems either at SMC or industry
• Work with the Air Force customer at SMC

You must be a US Citizen and hold an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance to be considered for the position.
