For our Institute for Synchrotron Radiation (ISS), we wish to employ a

under an employment contract limited up to 3 years.

You are responsible for the scientific management of a laboratory for Metal-Organic Vapor Phase Epitaxy (MOVPE) thin film deposition at ANKA. You will lead a small research group in the area of characterization and manufacturing of MOVPE-based nanostructures. In addition, you are responsible for the implementation, supervision and the development of the MOVPE laboratory. As a research project leader you will develop a scientific research program for the growth of thin films and nanostructures using MOVPE at ANKA. Furthermore, you will work in the Virtual Helmholtz Institute Pinch-Photonics and the KNMF-Lab at ANKA, where you will build international cooperations on in-situ MOVPE growth studies. The position is also suited for part-time employment. Under certain requirements, a Habilitation is possible.

You have completed your studies of Physics, Crystallography, Mineralogy or Chemistry with a doctoral degree. Solid experience in the field of MOVPE growth, thin film growth and semiconductor physics are required. Furthermore, you should have knowledge in the field of X-ray physics, structure characterization, material sciences and solid state physics, as well as in project management. Good German and English language skills complete your profile.
