For our department Energy Fossil Legal in Erlangen, we are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (m/f) for the next possible date.
- As a Senior Legal Counsel with us, you are in charge of all legal matters regarding our worldwide power plant projects. You will be part of an international and multifunctional team. We are offering the exciting and challenging opportunity to support our business in the field of Conventional Islands (turbine and generators for nuclear power plants). The position will mainly focus on a complex project under execution involving a significant arbitration
- Ensuring effective legal risk management (operational focus) by addressing legal risks and opportunities, applying a legal and entrepreneurial perspective
- Counseling business partners on a wide range of legal topics with focus on claim management and dispute resolution
- Managing and accurately reporting of legal proceedings
- Managing claims by analyzing the contractual position and setting the right strategy in order to achieve the best possible result for the business
- Exercising effective legal control of agreements by participating in major external negotiations for the business, drafting and reviewing all types of agreements and taking responsibility for legal risk assessment
- Managing outside counsel
- Sharing knowledge internally by providing in-depth legal knowledge to the business and colleagues in the legal community
- Cooperating closely with other departments in the business and the Siemens legal community (e.g. our corporate Litigation Department)
- Fully educated lawyer with excellent academic credentials and with at least five years of legal experience in an international law firm or legal department of a multinational corporation
- At least three years will have been spent in international project business which involved a high degree of complexity and difficulty
- At least three years of claim management and / or arbitration experience will have been gained in an international environment
- High degree of intercultural knowledge, preferably proven by studies or professional assignments abroad
- Fluency in German and English, further language would be a benefit (e.g. Spanish)
