Senior Technical Underwriter
Full Job Description
This role will have clear accountability and responsibility for technical underwriting across the UK motor and home accounts to ensure a consistent underwriting approach is adopted.
The key responsibilities of this role are :
- Motor and home underwriting philosophy and practice;
- Underwriting issues and the delivery of planned performance for all distribution channels;
- Planning and forecasting for all distribution channels;
- Key projects and business propositions which will emerge from time to time
Our client is looking for a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:
- Currently in a similar position with a personal lines insurer.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of motor and home underwriting principles;
- Detailed knowledge of relevant products, procedures, processes and services;
- Understanding of the personal lines insurance market;
- Understanding of current and proposed legal and regulatory requirements relevant to personal lines underwriting;
- Awareness of the financial dynamics of a personal lines portfolio (I.e. expense allocation, return on capital requirements and the like).
- Degree level or equivalent business underwriting experience - or,
- At least 5 years` experience in a similar underwriting role - or,
- a combination of underwriting and development roles;
- Progress in CII examinations preferred;
