Settlements Manager
Corporate Operations Group (COG) provides specialist professional services, human resources, workplace infrastructure, and technology and market operations to Macquarie's businesses. The primary purpose of COG is to support and enhance the value of Macquarie through the creation of an efficient, scalable operating model. This is evident across the activities of each of the divisions which comprises of Business Improvement and Strategy Division (BIS), Business Services Division (BSD), COG Business Management, Human Resources Division (HR), Market Operations and Technology.
Macquarie Group is looking to appoint a Manager in the Settlements Team of Corporate Operations Group, Market Operations Division.
COG MOD provides essential and professional services across all areas of the Macquarie Group of Companies. The group sets and maintains high standards and is continually developing operating efficiencies and setting industry benchmarks in service delivery.
The MOD team focus on all aspects of Operational support for the Energy trading group and are responsible for:
- Deal Checking / verification
- Confirmations - incoming / outgoing
- Invoicing
- Settlements
- Reconciliations
- Actualisations
- Brokerage
- Payments
- Margining
- Asset management
As an integral part of the Energy Settlements team you will be responsible for:
- Customer Invoice generation for Physical and Financial Energy deals.
- Reconciliation of customer invoices to internal systems, customer records, supply and transportation records.
- Preparation of all relevant documentation for settlement.
- Follow up and resolution of settlement and post settlement adjustments.
- Working a point of contact between all internal locations, customers and suppliers.
- Managing the relevant internal and external relationships. Cross training between products roles and locations as is required by the business.
- Identifying and resolving issues and escalating prudentially to direct and senior management.
- Support of the team Senior manager both day to day and a cover in times of absence.
- Supervisory and people management support of the Settlements
The successful candidate should:
- Have previous employment in Settlements with experience in commodities.
- Be highly motivated with a confident and professional attitude and possess high levels of attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate potential for or have experience in either reconciliation or customer invoicing.
- Have experience preferably in the Banking/Finance or Energy sectors with a degree
- Be confident in the learning of new functions and processes and be able to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of client material
- Have the ability to prioritize and problem solve, and deliver high level of quality service to clients on a daily basis under tight timeframes
- Preferably have experience of working in a team spread across multiple geographical locations.
Qualifications and Background
- Preferably two years experience in the Energy Trading sector.
- Management or supervision experience ideally of a multi-location team of 6 – 10 people.
- Experience in change management would be considered an advantage.
