Hays Healthcare is working with one of a leading acute NHS Trust in the Eastern region of the which is looking to recruit 2 Senior House Officer/Clinical Fellow doctors in Trauma Orthopaedics..

All trauma and orthopaedic clinics take place in the trauma and orthopaedic outpatients department of the Hospital which is located near the Accident and Emergency department.

There are two orthopaedic operating theatres within the department, which operate from Monday through to Friday with elective surgery. We also have afternoon sessions allocated to Trauma lists, in which emergency orthopaedic surgery can be undertaken.
The department undertakes a range of procedures including, arthroscopys and manipulations of fractures, nailing and dynamic hip screws, joint replacements, revision surgery and resurfacing of joints.

DUTIES OF POST HOLDER
Day to day care of inpatients admitted under the care of the appropriate Consultant, including daily visit to all patients.
Expeditious admission and clerking of patients admitted either for elective treatment or as emergencies.
When requested the admission and inpatient care of patients under the care of one of the Consultants in Accident/Emergency.
The entering of written records at appropriate intervals in the patients notes and expeditious provision of discharge information for GPs.
The collection of statistics and their presentation at monthly Unit Audit and Teaching meeting.
The maintenance of appropriate liaison with other members of the firm and the establishment of satisfactory working relationships with other medical, nursing, ancillary and administrative staff.

Agreement to perform extra duties in occasional emergencies or unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant(s).

Agreement to follow any written or verbal protocols for that firm or unit.

You must have (or be eligible for) full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and must be eligible to work in the UK. You must have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in Trauma Orthopaedics.

The Annual salary will have an additional salary banding supplement of up to 50% of the basic salary.
