Site Electrical Manager 

 

Description: Carry out site engineering and management tasks to support the project and client. Manage the subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they meet contractual requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

1.                   Provide input and technical expertise for power generating construction projects in the following areas: transmission lines interconnect systems, switchgear installations, electrical circuits, power quality and high voltage collection/distribution systems. 

2.                   Provide support for engineering review, procurement (if necessary), construction, and start-up of a high/medium voltage electrical system and associated substation.   

3.                   Effectively schedule electrical work. Organize, execute and coordinate the electrical installation.

4.                   Responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and standards of engineering and design drafting for the project; work with the engineering and technical groups to ensure that the work outputs comply with standards and meet contract requirements.

5.                   Responsible for installation guidance, QA/QC enforcement, scheduling support and client correspondence.

6.                   Assist with review and final submittal of engineer as-builts and project system packages.

7.                   Ensure a safe, productive, quality job, with controlled costs in field operations.

8.                   Understand the conditions of working around high voltage lines (i.e. high-potting or partial discharge tests). Familiar with electrical reference codes and electrical safety code publications.

Requirements:

1.                  Three to ten years of proven experience in installation of substations, OHL and Underground Electrical Infrastructure at various voltages ranging from 690V to 345KV. Wind farm, OR Utility experience. A Renewable energy background is a plus.

2.                   Minimum 3 years of Management experience.

3.                   Ability to work outside on a daily basis in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, ranging from -30 to +40 degrees Celsius. 

4.                  MUST have the ABILITY TO TRAVEL, living at worksite for approximately six - nine months.  Eligibility for per diems based on company criteria.

5.                   Current and valid driver license.

6.                   Skilled in MSOffice and Outlook.

 

Education:  BS Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, P.E. qualification preferred.
