Social Media Content Strategist, US (location Princeton, NJ)
Digital Marketing:
The Global Digital Marketing Team is part of the broader Global Marketing function at BlackRock. This division creates and drives the digital vision, strategy and implementation across digital channels. This includes management of digital assets including websites, mobile apps, emails and social media. This team also manages client information and analytics to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness through digital channels and ultimately a richer, more relevant experience for our clients.
Position Summary:
The Social Media Manager will support the company's ongoing digital and social marketing tactics for both iShares and BlackRock in the US. This individual must possess a strong understanding of the digital/social media space and can work in a fast paced demanding environment. This position will be responsible for working with content producers and influencer communities to create and distribute content that complies with our social media policies and guidelines. Strong collaboration and project management skills are required with the ability to work independently. The candidate must be able to configure social media tools like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and have experience with social media publishing/listening tools and metrics. This position will report into the Director of Social Media located in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities:
Overall, the role will support strategic campaigns and content initiatives in all digital forms, with a particular emphasis on social media, to engage clients and prospects and build our brands
Content Marketing Strategy
- Develop content for social media activities/campaigns that support business objectives and brand marketing efforts and evaluate results in an ongoing basis
- Assist in local social media publishing (Spredfast) and use social listening platforms (i.e. Radian6) to evolve future content strategy
- Develop and maintain a process work flow that ensures consistent execution and delivery of digital/social media marketing campaigns
Content Production
- Ensure all digital content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone and optimized for social and search
- Publish content to platforms and "follow" the content through social listening tools to measure effectiveness
- Ensure integration of digital/social media content with other marketing activities in other areas of BlackRock
Content Syndication
- Work closely with agencies and social platforms to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Collaborate with content creators within BlackRock and iShares and make that content "social"
- Partner with compliance professionals to ensure content meets digital/social media guidelines
- Work with Content Distribution Manager in US to identify syndication partners and other 3^rd parties that would be interested in iShares/BlackRock content
Qualifications:
- Education (Minimum): Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Experience must include:
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a digital content marketing, social media or PR required
- Prior Financial Services experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience in working on digital properties, including but not limited to display marketing campaigns, search (SEO and SEM), relevant experience interfacing with and utilizing social media tools sets: e.g. (Facebook, LinkedIn, AdvisorTweets, Twitter and others), mobile applications, blogs and widgets
- Specific experience in managing social communities desired (LinkedIn a plus)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with and demonstrated understanding of social media toolsets
- Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
- Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to translate metrics into "stories"
- Creative thinker
- Ability to work with in a deadline oriented fast paced team environment and produce results
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with senior iShares/BlackRock leaders
- Experience being a local manager on a team that is not co-located
