Software Engineer V
Position Summary: Work with key Intelligence community customers to drive the technical development of application ready, high performance RF subsystems.
These software-defined radio subsystems will leverage open source frameworks and for rapid development and deployment.
This role will also be responsible for taking the lead on development and test of embedded signal processing software.
This individual will play a key role in steering the roadmap by providing architectural and product recommendations to senior management.
This individual will also review products under development for consistent adherence to our strategy.
Our client offers a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off.
They specialize in communications-surveillance products that meld both RF and DSP technologies and are a leading worldwide supplier of high-quality signal-intercept equipment.
They provide creative RF solutions to the Department of Defense and prime contractors.
The facility designs and manufactures HF, VHF, and SHF tuners and receivers, demodulators, direction finders and wireless intercept solutions.
Duties and Responsibility:
- Understand intelligence customer needs and work with management to synthesize that feedback into a product strategy
- Drive consistent implementation plans around open source frameworks and tools
- Develop software architectures and requirements
- Drive technology and the completion of activities on time and budget
- As a program contributor, develop code, documentation, unit test plans, integration plans and system test plans
- As a program contributor, perform unit level testing, system integration and test
- Contribute to program risk identification and mitigation plans
- Provide technical oversight of other engineers designs, documentation and plans
- Mentor and coach other engineers
- Help capture new business by providing feedback and authoring sections of proposals
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Computer Science, Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering, M.S. preferred
- 10 + years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience working on Software-defined Radio systems
- Demonstrated Signal Processing knowledge
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, and Python
- Experience with Java, javascript and HTML
- Experience with Real-time Operating Systems
- Working knowledge of Linux, embedded Linux systems
- Experience writing Linux Device drivers
- TS/SCI with a Fullscope Polygraph required
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience working with X-Midas
- Experience working with GNU Radio
- Experience with the OSSIE or RedHawk framework
- Experience working with the Nucleus operating system
