PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position is accountable for the sourcing and delivery of cost effective third party goods and services within the MRO portfolio in the Corporate Services group, assisting Operations, Mechanical Services, and other areas within CP as required. The position is accountable for supplier management, sourcing activities, such as: RFP issuance, proposal evaluation and contract negotiations, as well as, procurement activities.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Execute and lead the sourcing process, including the complete Request for Proposal (RFP) process, contract negotiations and service fulfillment for internal customers.
- Direct the supplier development process to ensure qualified service providers have a competitive opportunity to meet CP requirements.
- Reinforce compliance to CP's purchasing policy, procedures and business practices, including use of EDI and SRM.
- Work with Accounts Payable to facilitate timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Liaise with the SSG Business Performance Group to monitor procurement compliance and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Respond to and resolve any supplier and internal customer issues in a timely manner.
- Provide ongoing analysis and timely reports to facilitate spend management and influence consumption behaviours.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree (business) or equivalent experience
- Understanding of supply management processes and procurement techniques
- Broad knowledge of CP's business operations is an asset
- Experience with SAP is an asset
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to interact with various business groups and to communicate effectively
- Ability to build consensus, influence, and resolve conflict
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work on a variety of sourcing and procurement activities simultaneously, occasionally with tight timelines
