The Senior Community Lending Officer (SCLO) is a full-time position primarily responsible for identifying, originating, and closing loans and other investments (including low-income housing tax credits and new markets tax credits) within a defined community market as well as other CRA designated areas of BNY Mellon, N.A. ( Wealth Bank ). These loans and investments will qualify for CRA in accordance with the criteria established by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ( OCC ) or such other regulatory bodies as are applicable. The SCLO will work closely with Real Estate and CRA teams to ensure that the community investment goals and objectives are met. The SCLO reports to the Team Leader for the Real Estate Investment Team within the Real Estate Mortgage Banking Division ( Real Estate ) of Global Client Management and will have additional accountability to the Head of Community Reinvestment Act ( CRA ). The position will also assume responsibility for management oversight of the legacy CDC portfolio of loans located in the greater Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas. In addition, the position will require the ability to sit on boards of local or charitable organizations and as well as require active involvement with other community organizations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. 7 years of business /Real Estate Lending. 10+ years of experience within the CRA business preferred. Strong credit and analytical skills are required. Knowledge of the complex structures involved in underwriting low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) investments is a requirement. Working knowledge of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations is a requirement. Knowledge of government loans and grant programs at both the Federal and local levels is important.
