The Senior EHS Specialist position will be responsible for developing and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety programs with the aim of ensuring worker safety and compliance with federal, state and local regulations and company standards. The incumbent will provide oversight for a wide range of health and safety programs including but not limited to hazard communication, industrial hygiene monitoring, injury and illness prevention, PPE selection, blood borne pathogens, emergency response, ergonomics, lockout / tagout, machine guarding and accident investigations. As part of these responsibilities, the Senior EHS Specialist will perform routine regulatory audits, training and education, workplace assessments, and monitoring. The incumbent will also be the site contact for regulatory agency representatives; participate in emergency preparedness and response activities; interpret regulations and maintain records related to compliance; and complete required regulatory reports and program documentation.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS. Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience in an EHS role is required. A Masters Degree and/or Certification as a Safety Professional or Industrial Hygienist are preferred. Must have effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner.
