Must ensure that orders are prepared and shipped in a timely manner to meet promised delivery dates following Timken Standards. Monitoring the Shipping Open Order Status report WIP system to advise the CRM Rep (customer care), customer, district sales office of issues that would delay shipments. This position is the last stop before product and paperwork are sent to the customer. This position has a responsibility to investigate any Order Entry or Operations errors or perceived errors before shipping the product to the customer. They must also question the Operating Plants about inventory that appears to be duplicated, such as BBG's to get orders completed to the customer and inventory cleaned up.Responsible to make sure all metallurgical, credit, customer, and overage/shortage releases are cleared before shipment is made. This position must be in constant communication with CRM Reps, some customers, district sales offices, and operating personnel. Must coordinate shipments for all steel plants, FSP, GSP, HSP, and off site warehouses. Must determine what orders and quantities should be on each truck or rail load. If portions of the load are located at multiple facilities, this position must determine the most efficient way to handle the loading, minimizing time and cost. Must work with Shift Supervisors and Area Managers to determine priority of orders to be prepared for shipment. Use departmental task lists to schedule cutting of samples, splitting bundles, moving steel, loading of railcars. Expedites preparation of shipments to meet customer emergencies and promised ship dates. Structures loads in the most efficient, cost effective manner to satisfy customer requirements and reduce costs to The Timken Company. Minimizes split pickups, light truck loads, and light railcar loads to eliminate extra costs and the inefficiencies that result from these occurrences. Particular attention is given to weight restrictions for specific destinations to allow the carrier to remain within legal load limits and meet customers handling equipment limits. Must make sure orders are shipped with proper regard to blocking, tagging, and loading instructions. Provides input problem solving of customer complaints related to administrative errors.
