Systems Administrator

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. This position is for a Desk side Support Technician which supports the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation of IT related hardware software to include workstations, scanners, printers, Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, and Desktop Videoconferencing (DVTC) devices. MISSION CRITICAL ENVIRONMENT--work when required, sometimes weekend or after business hours. Required Education: 8+ Years with HS or 5+ Years with AA or 2+ Years with BS Required Experience: Required Skills: Requires 3 years experience of relevant technical experience in the administration of networked desktop and server systems, Windows 2000/XP, Active Directory, SMS or remote troubleshooting desktops and utilizing TCP/IP in a LAN environment. Strong troubleshooting skills with various hardware and software applications (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, IE, etc). IT certifications in Security Plus or Network+. Experienced working in a 24x7, DoD classified, service desk environment.
