System Analyst Responsibilities:
- Conducting system analysis regarding business application/program and understand requirements – functional and non-functional
Ø Be responsible for ensuring that the requirements set forth by the business are captured and documented correctly before the solution is developed and implemented
Ø Analyzing and understanding the current state processes to ensure that the context and implications of change are understood by the clients and the project team
Ø Developing an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact the solution
Ø Identifying the sources of requirements and understanding how roles help determine the relative validity of requirements
Ø Developing a Requirements Management Plan and disseminating the Plan to all stakeholders
Ø Identifying and documenting all business, technical, product and process requirements
Ø Working with the client to prioritize and rationalize the requirements
Ø Helping to define acceptance criteria for completion of the solution
Ø Partner with Product Managers to understand the business problems and develop requirements in the form of Agile User Stories
Ø Ability to map data and interface elements to ensure correct integration with external systems
Ø Work with software engineers/programmers to ensure that user stories and requirements are understood and that delivery of software meets the needs of the business
Ø Plan and resolve the dependencies, impediments and risks associated with the delivery of the solution.
Ø Create and update Logical solution design diagrams
Ø Create sequence, data flow and flowchart diagrams to document the solutions
- Provide weekly progress status to Product Owners
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Systems and/or Business
· Analyst must have a good set of people skills, business skills, technical skills and soft skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum or XP software development methodology
- Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization
· Good technical background with integration related projects that utilized SOA and Web Services solutions
· Background in leading JAD sessions, requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews and creating business cases
