Systems Engineer I

Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) to join and expand our distinguished team to develop a state-of-the-art ground station for the next generation of low earth orbiting environmental satellites. The development of this national asset will provide global coverage, monitor environmental conditions, collect, disseminate and process data about the Earth's weather, atmosphere, oceans, land, and near-space environment.

Responsibilities include:

"¢ Provide basic support in the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products/artifacts

"¢ Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems

"¢ Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems

"¢ Contribute to the completion of project/program milestones under the general guidance of his/her immediate supervisor

"¢ Follow established SE processes and procedures

Required Skills:

"¢ Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories and concepts

"¢ Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems

"¢ Ability to work in a multi discipline environment

"¢ Ability to work in a team environment

Desired Skills:

"¢ Exposure to the software development life cycle

"¢ Exposure to requirements development, derivation and management

"¢ Exposure to integration of software and hardware subsystems

"¢ Ability to research and distill data into meaningful information

"¢ Ability to articulate status and results

"¢ Possess good written and oral communication skills

"¢ Experience using MS Office Suite of tools

Required Education: BS/BA in Engineering (Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Physics, Math), or equivalent experience
