Job Description Posted Internally March 16, 2012 Summary Drives to site and installs, repairs, trouble-shoots, maintains, tests, rearranges and removes key equipment, PBXs, related telecommunications equipment, office automated equipment on the customer's side of the demarcation point. Must have the ability to operate a computer and have an understanding of how software programs work. Must demonstrate the ability to confer and coordinate with the customer and other Frontier departments with tact and courtesy. Works safely and conducts safety check on assigned vehicle. Must understand and follow the Frontier Code of Business Conduct. General Duties Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Drives to site and installs, repairs, trouble-shoots, maintains, tests, rearranges and removes key equipment, PBXs, PABXs, related telecommunications equipment, office automated equipment on the customer's side of the demarcation point. Works aloft and/or in confined spaces. Makes all tests and adjustments necessary to put equipment in operation. Uses schematics, circuit diagrams and manufacturer's specifications. Loads/configures operating system/software to provide required equipment functionality unless it is performed by others. Confers and coordinates with other departments. Consults with site personnel for sales/problem identification/placement of new and/or existing telecommunications equipment/software. Conducts safety checks and ensures the assigned vehicle is in proper running condition, i.e., checks water, oil, tire pressure, and fuel; maintains reports/records as necessary. Works independently. Decisions based on problem solving, technical knowledge and capabilities of system. Follows all appropriate laws, Company policies and procedures. May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. Required Skills Basic Qualifications Read, write and speak English. Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Demonstrated effective knowledge of electronic and digital theory/principle. Demonstrated effective knowledge of particular EPABX and key systems and operating system software packages. Fundamental knowledge of job-related equipment and applications. Possess manual dexterity and able to use small hand tools. Physical condition to perform job duties including seeing/hearing; fingering/feeling/handling/reaching; bending/crouching/squatting/ kneeling/lifting/carrying weights in excess of 25 pounds (medium work); climbing ladders. Tolerance to work aloft and in confined spaces. Perceive differences in color. Possess and maintain valid driver's license and safe driving record. Demonstrated effective communication skills including tact and courtesy. Working knowledge of service orders, trouble tickets and circuit diagrams. Demonstrated effective problem solving skills. Flexibility to work varied hours/days (holidays, weekends, overtime/call outs). No diagnosed condition(s) as defined by applicable state law(s) likely to cause loss of consciousness or control while driving.
