Description

Responsible for preparation of tax adjustments for various financial instruments, taxable income analysis for Sub M/excise tax purposes and related income tax returns for regulated investment companies and investment partnerships. Preparation of 1) tax year-end provisions, financial statement tax footnotes and related disclosures for regulated investment companies, 2) federal (Forms 1120-RIC, 8613 and 1065) and state income tax returns, and 3) excise income and capital gain distribution calculations. Keeps abreast of new industry developments and issues as well as current tax laws. Assists in the coordination of statutory and/or client deadlines of tax filings.Assists in the coordination of statutory and/or client deadlines of tax filings. Working knowledge of tax law and/or experience with financial instruments. Ability to perform basic tax research and planning on specific tax issues. Strong PC skills and comfortable with Excel. Strong project management skills: understands the task to be completed and the deliverable date(s) and communicates issues promptly and follows up on open items to ensure the successful completion of the tasks at hand. Attention to detail a must. Strong problem solving skills: applies independent thinking to solve simple problems. With appropriate questions and some direction can solve moderately complex problems. Strong multitasking, organizational and communication (both oral and written) skills. Works well within a group setting: understands the dynamics of a team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, MBA and MST (or progress towards) preferred. 0-1 years tax/1-2 years industry. Tax or Industry preferred.
