Tax Manager, International Executive Services (IES), Shanghai – SHT769 recruitment

KPMG covers the development of policies and related remuneration packages, cross-border solutions between mainland China, reviews of international assignment programs, pensions, tax, human resources advice, completion of tax returns for assignees and advanced technology-based solutions. The IES client portfolio ranges from large multinational companies to local start-ups.

We are now seeking high-calibre tax professionals to fulfil the role of Tax Manager to support the continued growth of our IES team in Shanghai. The ideal candidate will bring a commercial and analytical mind and have very strong written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of the China tax system is essential.

Responsibilities

• Communicate proactively to, and manage expectations of, clients, assignees and team members of KPMG member firms while delivering both compliance (tax returns and equalizations) and advisory projects
• Develop and review tax equalization and international assignment policies
• Achieve financial metrics as set by the practice by effectively managing engagements and by ensuring timely and accurate client billing
• Coordinate special projects and work with partners and senior managers on expatriate program proposals/business opportunities
• Mentor and coach staff while managing resource allocation, workflow and resource utilisation
• Identify areas of program improvement for both clients and the local practice

 
Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Preferably with a professional qualification in CTA or CPA)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in expatriate or individual income tax
• Ability to analyse basic tax and accounting information
• Possess presentation skills with an excellent command of spoken and written English. Local language skills are a plus
• Possess good client relationship skills
• Ability to supervise and mentor staff
• Strong organisational and project management skills
