Description

The Tax Research Specialist position is responsible for updating Management of the on-going compliance issues and risks related to Federal, State, and local tax regulations for GSS Benefit Disbursements. The incumbent is responsible for reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex tax law publications. This position is also acts as the liaison with the Technology department in providing functional specifications, and user acceptance testing of systems updates related to new or updated tax regulations. The incumbent is responsible for training peers, and junior tax associates. The Tax Researcher relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tax related performance goals. He/She Performs a variety of additional tax related tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position may be required to complete tax returns, assuring federal, state, and local tax laws for complex tax situations related to our client base. Typically reports to top management.

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must be industrious and have strong analytical skills. Prior knowledge of tax compliance rules is required. Individuals should also have advanced Excel skills, and a degree in Accounting. The Tax Researcher must be familiar with all of the functions of a Tax Specialist and Tax Expeditor.
