UK M&A Associate / VP recruitment

With an outstanding reputation in the market as a team that gets things done this firm has won praise from clients and industry insiders and can point to a fantastically strong partnership group all hailing from bulge bracket backgrounds.

The firm prides itself on its service offering to clients focusing on being able to offer impartial advice rather than looking for the next deal. They have experts within the areas of MA, Equity and Debt Capital Markets, Debt Advisory and Restructuring, covering all industry sectors. Their business model is built on signing clients on retainers to offer general advice and then charging transaction fees for specific deals meaning they have been profitable since their inception.

Within the London office there is team of around 50 professionals and the company has other overseas locations catering for the global market, have established a formidable reputation and track record and are currently looking to expand due to demand for their services.

THE ROLE
The firm does not operate with a strict structure meaning that all staff are presented the opportunity to work on various assignments covering different products, sectors and geographies. Within this set-up though there are people who are leaders in specific areas and they are currently looking for someone who can be the point of contact for all UK (Blue Book) MA deals, while assisting on other assignments.

THE CANDIDATE
To be considered for the role you must be able to show:
*Minimum of 4 years UK MA experience gained from a leading Investment Bank (Broking / Securities Houses experience will NOT be considered)
*Extensive knowledge of the UK Takeover Code
*Must be able to advise and convince people of what can and cannot be done and best way to progress deals
*Experience of other aspects of Corporate Finance is preferred
*Must have excellent written and verbal English - able to write reports and deal directly with clients without supervision

Ideally you will be at the Senior Associate / VP level, but there is a degree of flexibility around this

IN RETURN
The firm is genuinely free from all the politics associated with the large investment banks - everyone sits together in 1 big open plan office (including the founders) and there is ample opportunity to work across different products and industry sectors meaning you will not be affected by seasonal shifts in activity, providing the chance to gain additional skills and advance within the business.

They have a very team orientated culture with several company events throughout the year to reward the work of the staff and existing employees enjoy working there, as proven by incredibly low headcount turnover in the past 3 years.

By way of remuneration they are on a par with most of the large investment banks in terms of salary and offer a discretionary up-front cash bonus at the end of the year that has traditionally been very strong.
