UK Risk and Compliance (CF10/CF10a/CF11)

To ensure and manage the firm's responsibility to comply with all UK (and where applicable European) regulatory, legislative and statutory requirements, and minimize risks through effective monitoring and communication. Support the wider Group, where necessary, in other global initiatives requiring regulatory input.
Performing the FCA CF10 CF11 controlled functions.
Enabling the business to identify and understand the key areas that drive risk within their business, as well as the regulatory influence on the business strategy, and daily operations.
Main Duties and responsibilities
Develop robust strategies to cope with a changing market environment allowing the business to make more informed decisions on the basis of sound evidence and analysis
Ensure compliance and risk management at client, product, corporate and market level
Responsible for the formulating and implementing of UK (and where applicable European) regulatory, compliance and risk management strategy
Maintenance of UK compliance manual and relevant risk documents

Ensuring compliance and risk policies, procedures, systems and controls meet the regulatory, risk management and governance standards
Reviewing all new business initiatives, assessing their regulatory impact and implications
Ensuring reporting and submission deadlines are met through efficient management of the compliance timetable
Advising the business on all relevant regulatory and compliance matters
Identifying and monitoring compliance training requirements
Maintaining a thorough understanding of any regulatory developments, announcements or rule changes that are relevant to the business.
Reviewing and approving any marketing materials from a compliance perspective
Preparing and reviewing legal documents with customers or counterparties from a compliance perspective
Compliance reporting to Board of Directors and Group Compliance
Required to ensure that there is adherence to all legislative, regulatory supervisory requirements by the company
Undertaking comprehensive and systematic testing of procedures to meet the regulatory, compliance and business requirements
Execution of compliance monitoring programme
Ensuring internal group policies are in place and adhered to
Required to analyse proposed new legislation and comment to management;
To devise, implement and monitor processes and procedures to pro-actively ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and supervisory requirements
Responsible for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders / regulators;
Maintaining effective relations with regulators
Liaising with external legal advisers on regulatory
Required to advise management on all compliance and regulatory matters that affect business decisions;
Creating/maintaining an effective compliance presence ensuring that any incidents of non-compliance can be identified effectively in a timely manner
Creating and implementing any additional controls where required.
Understanding and providing business support to operate and market in global markets, including taking responsibility for operating in certain markets
Reviewing and working with Group service providers to ensure the firm's regulatory obligations are met, eg: Money Laundering Training.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Ideal experience
Approximately 5 years compliance/regulatory experience within an asset management firm, accompanied with a solid understanding of the regulatory environment surrounding the UK financial markets
Experience of other European financial markets regulation will be an advantage, including Irish UCITS and non-UCITS Regulations.
Legal experience will be an advantage including current and relevant knowledge of financial services 'type' agreements and all legal and compliance 'aspects' of a global best practice asset manager
Ability to manage or be involved in multiple projects with other business departments.
