Description

Manages multiple Advisor Services teams of exempt and nonexempt associates responsible for all aspects of investment management support including transaction processing, individual account monitoring and client service for a defined group of investment managers and clients. Investment managers are both large and small firms covering all investment options in established markets as well as high-risk emerging markets. This manager would be assigned to the more complex investment managers or internally managed clients as determined by transaction types, number of accounts and transactions, sensitivity of the relationship and exposure/risk to the bank. The incumbent must understand country specific requirements including special settlement circumstances, tax rates to be applied at settlement, segregation of funds and fail and penalty policies. The incumbent must have a strong understanding of industry practices and identify opportunities for automation or process improvement. They must also continuously monitor and assess operational risk and ensure section policies and procedures are adhered to. The incumbent must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to assess a client's needs. They must be able to measure client satisfaction and have overall responsibility for ensuring the needs of each investment manager and client are met. He/she will need to interact with other senior level managers in GSS (Operations, Client Service, Service Delivery, Systems, Sales Marketing) for new business and problem resolution for existing clients. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of human resources management over both the exempt and nonexempt associates of their assigned Advisor Service teams including assessing training and development needs. In addition, the incumbent must remain current in industry initiatives and assist in the strategic planning to meet those needs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent work experience required. Eight plus years experience in investments, banking, or operational environment required. Five of those years should be supervisory in nature. Strong customer service and problem solving skills required. Knowledge and understanding if the securities industry, its players, foreign exchange markets, and settlement practices in domestic and foreign markets is essential. Strong relationship management, communication, and presentation skills are also required. The ability to work independently and under pressure while adhering to strict processing deadlines. Demonstrate the ability to work with all levels of management and staff. Interviewing and hiring experience also a plus. At least three years prior experience as an Advisor Services Unit Manager I is typically required.
