Up to AVP, Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst
The Global Markets Credit Risk Management department provides markets and credit risk coverage to the Global Markets trading businesses. The Credit Risk teams are responsible for risk management of issuer exposure and limits, credit trading businesses, loan trading, special situations, emerging markets, traded products, real estate and mortgage structures, as well as the counterparty analysis for SPE’s/SIV’s.
The role is within the EMEA Issuer Risk team that covers credit and loan trading, special situations and emerging markets. The position entails assisting in reporting and managing of issuer risk, initial analysis on various transactions and credits, as well as reporting and analysis for internal and external regulatory requests.
Responsibilities
Specific tasks include:
- Supporting the EMEA NPL Business by assisting in new and annual on-site due diligence visits of servicers, and preparing annual CAMs on each NPL portfolio.
- Assist in initial analysis of specific credits and large loan portfolios for Above Grid Limit exceptions, and various one-off approvals (eg ILTs).
- Issuer Risk Dashboards: assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and ad-hoc requests and dashboards covering issuer exposure sections. This includes preparation, initial analysis and commentary of issuer exposure with specific focus: e.g. GIIPS, lines of business, countries, etc.
- Assist is preparation of routine regulatory reports, including Monthly ROC and PRA Credit Risk CC meetings; quarterly Board packs; as well as ad-hoc requests such as the Rate Reversal analysis, Credit Risk Limits and Governance, WWR, etc.
- Other: participate in UAT testing for new system applications to MRX, liaising with Country Risk team on weekly and ad-hoc reporting, administrative work related to risk forums/NPR Gate-keeping, etc.
Requirements
- Relevant experience gained within a global financial institution/investment bank.
- Basic understanding of credit markets and fixed income securities (e.g. bonds, loans, CDS)
- Experience in performing credit analysis (formal credit-training preferred but not essential)
- Core skill-set required includes good analytical abilities with excellent proficiency in Excel, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong bachelors degree gained with an accounting, finance, or business discipline (or similar)
- Potential and interest to be trained as a credit analyst
