US GAAP Finance Mgr Corporate Solutions
Position objectives and position summary
The candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP as well as traditional re(insurance) and derivative business which will allow the candidate to analyze and explain deviations in financial results. Role will liase with Finance Corporate Solutions, Group External Reporting, Finance Operations, Asset Management and other areas as needed.
Main tasks/activities
- Develop a process to prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements and other financial disclosures for Corporate Solutions stand-alone reporting
- Assist in the preparation of potential offering memorandum
- Analyze and consolidate Corporate Solutions information for various stakeholders
- Assist Global Controller and other team members as needed with various closing and reporting tasks including but not limited to monthly reporting, quarterly business unit US GAAP close, and Plan
- Participate in and support projects impacting Finance Corporate Solutions, providing expertise in areas that impact US GAAP
- Support integration activities with regards to acquisitions
Job requirements
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification desired
- Minimum 5 years related experience with a university degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Background preferably in direct insurance and/or financial services processes
- Solid finance background and knowledge of financial reporting and US GAAP
- Strong communication skills and a good command of English (spoken and written)
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines
- Ability to manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"
- Experience on personal accountability for area of responsibility
- Stress resilient, with the ability to work independently
