The primary role of the Utilities Team Leader is to supervise the Utilities operation and maintenance team to supply essential and support services to the brewery, including ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, carbon dioxide, water, steam, WWPT, HVAC, and natural gas systems, fire protection systems, and plumbing.

Ensure the development and implementation of an effective Utilities Maintenance Program to provide uninterrupted services to the facility.

Encourage subordinates to improve their capabilities and skills, and provide them with the opportunities to assume more responsibility within the department.

Ensure the timely submission of capital and operating budgets and provide ongoing review and control of these budgets as they are implemented. Specifically: staffing schedules, and utility services reports must be maintained.

Cooperate with Corporate and facility personnel in improving the plant's operating efficiency by ensuring close coordination in solving operational problems either by assisting in new system start-ups affecting utility services, or by participating in research and information gathering in support of proposed projects or programs intended to improve operations.

Seek out and develop a high level of trust and cooperation between union and management personnel, striving especially for mutual respect, and an active, shared concern for improving operations together.

Coordinate craft employees from unions and departments other than utilities when such employees are performing maintenance on utility/facility equipment.

Create and maintain a positive and productive environment for subordinates through effective communications, training and enforcement of EEO/Affirmative Action guidelines and the jurisdictional practices of various labor contracts.

Ensure all quality standards and procedures are adhered to. Demonstrate commitment to quality through involvement on GMP inspections, ensure training levels are adequate, and lead other quality initiatives as needed.

Demonstrate support for the overall facility initiatives by volunteering for and playing an active role on facility-wide committees.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering, technology, or science

Minimum of three (3) years supervising a workforce in a plant environment, or an equivalent of five (5) years management (non supervisor) experience in a plant environment.

Strong technical knowledge of utilities generation systems.

Capability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.
