Vice President, Industrial Energy Efficiency
Financing solutions include products across the capital structure ranging from asset financing, cash flow debt lending, project finance, hybrid structures and equity financing. The team operates across all sectors, credit spectrum and UK locations and interacts with a broad spectrum of counterparties. The team is seeking to invest £500m by 2015.
Responsibilities
The role will be based in the London office (with interaction with teams in the Edinburgh office) and will contribute to the key components of the Energy Efficiency team functions, namely:
- Assist in the origination of energy efficiency financing opportunities from companies and intermediaries and enhance the knowledge and reputation of GIB in the market;
- Lead the execution of energy efficiency financing opportunities throughout the transaction process including credit papers, modelling, financial analysis, legal negotiation and documentation, investment committee presentations, financial close, portfolio hand-off ;
- Assist in managing deal team personnel and workload;
- Take the lead for Energy Efficiency team initiatives;
- Pro-actively work with the GIB team to help build an enduring institution.
Essential experience
- A relevant university degree (minimum 2.1 or above), preferably with an MBA.
- 5-10 years relevant work experience gained in investment banking, investment management, project finance, corporate finance or similar backgrounds;
- Must have had some exposure to the UK Renewables or Clean Energy market or Industry Sector deal experience;
- Strong origination and execution transaction track record in the corporate sector;
- Experience in managing deal teams;
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Strong debt and/or equity documentation experience;
- Financial modelling experience;
- Economic valuation and returns calculation experience;
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills (with a preference for candidates with work experience in high impact writing and investor reporting);
- A self-motivated, committed work ethic and a drive for perfection as well as keen attention to detail;
- Excellent problem solving and analytic ability;
- Ability to perform under deadline pressure;
- Strong data management and research skills;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
