Vice President, Trade Finance
Responsibilities:
LC Formats
- Ensure that incoming outgoing LC formats conform to approved formats contracts and will be operational prior to cargo loading.
- Negotiating with counterparties and traders as well as seeking approval from Credit and Legal for any deviations.
Documentation Presentation
- Check docs for accuracy and follow up with the relevant parties to correct discrepancies prior to presentation.
- Ensure docs are presented in a complete and timely manner to ensure prompt payment.
LC Issuer Limits
- Manage and monitor global LC Issuer limits.
- Seek credit approval in a timely manner when LC Issuer limits are insufficient.
MIS
- Recording LC details and expiry dates in Athena LC Module.
- Track lifecycle of LC and the last shipment dates.
- Review the daily LC spreadsheet for accuracy so it may be used global
Requirements:
- A University degree with a major in Finance, Economics or any other relevant discipline
- Minimum of 7 yrs experience Letters of Credit in Trade Finance with exposure to Commodities
- Demonstrates ownership of issues and able to prioritize and respond to queries and issues in a timely manner
- Takes personal responsibility for tasks and actions
- Works effectively and efficiently with a focus on detail and accuracy
- Strong controls mindset
- Strong analytical, communication, team-working and time management skills
- Positive towards changes, challenging status quo and striving to always do things better
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
